Honey Singh to do lead role in a Punjabi film

He may be facing many legal issues on charges of writing obscene lyrics, but popular Punjabi rapper Honey Singh’s career is going in the right direction. The singer, who is charging the highest fee to sing in Bollywood films, is reportedly planning to debut in the field of acting by doing the lead role in a Punjabi comedy film. According to sources, he and popular Punjabi actor Amrinder Gill will essay the role of two real brothers in a film titled,Main Tera Bai Tu Mera Bai.However, Honey says he is not planning to go into acting full time and this film is an exception which he is doing only to make one of his close friends happy.

“When this director-friend of mine, Amit Prasher, offered me this comedy about two brothers, I refused. But he was hurt. He said, ‘Tu doosre ki picture kar sakta, mera nahin?’ I had to say yes,” the star informed. He added, “I’ve just begun to explore the musician in me. It will be a long time before I feel confident to make the jump into acting like Himesh Reshammiya did”.
