Vivek Oberoi Reveals How His Career Dipped After His Fight With Salman Khan

Actor Vivek Oberoi, who made a grand entry into Bollywood with Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Company’, has been away from the film industry for a long time now. The reason being that the then star kid had confronted a conference in 2003, where he claimed superstar Salman Khan had threatened him over his affair with his ex and his then girlfriend Aishwarya Rai. Soon after that, his career started to fall.

The actor, who was winning awards and saw commercial success had also made a couple of films ‘Saathiya’ opposite Rani Mukerji, which was Yash Raj’s superhit. Despite having worked in hit films like ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’, ‘Grand Masti’, ‘Krrish 3’ or the recent Tamil film ‘Vivegam’, Vivek is far away from the popularity and stardom that he had received during his debut.

The actor in an interview revealed, “It was like a fatwa issued against me from the powers that be”. He added, “When my personal life got messed up, I couldn't keep my eye on the ball. Even if I gave a hit, work wouldn't follow. Shootout at Lokhandwala became a huge hit but I sat at home for a year after that”. However, now the actor is planning to turn producer for Ram Gopal’s ‘Company 2’ and will be seen starring in ‘Rai’.
