Sanjay Leela Bhansali's films are one of their own kind and so is the music of the films which is remembered more finely. His upcoming directorial Bajirao Mastani reportedly features 10 songs and the grapevine suggests that one of them will be a recreation of ‘Albela Sajan Aayo Re’ from Bhansali’s 1999 film, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. So the irony is that Bajirao Mastani will feature a song from Salman and Aishwarya’s flick; who were supposed to feature in the roles played by Ranveer and Deepika.

The song which was originally sung by Sultan Khan, Shankar Mahadevan and Kavita Krishnamurthy, has been sung by six other singers. The song will be played in the background when the Peshwa warrior will come of age. One of the singers who are on board for the song includes Indian Idol 5 fame Shashi Suman, who revealed to Mumbai Mirror, “Bhansali sir retained the original lyrics and roped in six singers, including me, to sing it”.

Shashi has worked with Bhansali as an assistant composer for Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela. Talking about Bhansali, Shashi said that he has immense knowledge about western classical music. “He knows more ragas than the musicians and would instruct us to switch from high to low, into different alaaps, during recording”, he added.
