I Am A Classy Guy Says Aman Verma After His Eviction From The Bigg Boss

Aman Verma is disappointed to be evicted from an ongoing reality TV show. “I thought that if I conducted myself in a classy manner, people would appreciate my behaviour, as most others were screaming, swearing and shouting. I thought I would stand out. But, perhaps, that was not what people wanted. You need to be peculiar to make an impact,” says Aman.

While on the show, the actor was also worried that the sting scandal, which he was embroiled in, would be brought up. “I handled it well by talking about it. In fact, I went into the show to talk about it and a few other things, which had been following me wherever I went.” Apparently, people would often ask him about the scandal, even as a joke, and Aman realised that either they couldn’t forget it, or, if they didn’t know, were itching to learn about it. “So, I thought this was a good opportunity to openly speak about the issue, and tell people that it isn’t who I am,” he says.

The actor also played safe on the show, and didn’t get into too many fights. Aman adds, “This is the way I would want to portray myself. I am classy, polished, polite, confident and straightforward, and I don’t cross the limit. I want people to know that I come from a good background, and I want my parents to be proud of the fact that I am their son. I don’t want to stoop down to anyone’s level. I have never done that in my life, and, perhaps that’s why I have survived for so many years as an actor.”

The actor became a household name for hosting the show, Khullja Sim Sim, in the early 2000s. He looks back on his career with pride. But, there was a time when Aman would have welcomed a mentor. “I wanted a mentor 12 to 13 years ago, when my career was zooming. If I had someone to guide me, I would have had a better career. I think I lacked the wisdom to take my career to a certain level. Today, I feel that I have survived, no matter what. I am one of the few actors to have worked all these years. The fact that Shahid (Kapoor), Alia (Bhatt) and even Deepika (Padukone) called me ‘sir’ on the show, means that I have made a name for myself,” he says.
