I am going to have a high-energy show in Mumbai, says singer Arjun Kanungo

Arjun Kanungo took the youth by storm when he released his first single ‘Nikke nikke shots’ back in 2015. The singer says that he “never expected” the song to become such a big hit. Now, Kanungo has created a place for himself in the music industry with singles such as ‘Fursat’ and ‘Ek dafaa’. Ahead of his performance at the Hindustan Times Mumbai Meri Hai concert today (May 6), he says, he is looking forward to perform at the event, as this will be his first show this year in Mumbai.

“I usually do few shows here [in Mumbai]; I usually perform in Delhi or some other place. So, it’s exciting for me every time I perform here. I am definitely going to have an uptempo, high-energy show. I’ll sing all my songs along with other Bollywood numbers. I might even sing one or two songs sung by Ayushmann (Khurrana),” says the 27-year-old.

Ask him how he feels about the audience’s reception to his work and Arjun says that he will “never get used to it [the attention and success]”. “In my head, I am really never going to be anything more than a musician. That’s what I do, that’s who I am — an artiste. It feels amazing to get such support from my listeners,” says Kanungo.
