Gurinder Chadha is a prominent English film director, who is making every Indian proud of her work. After making critically acclaimed flicks like Bend It Like Beckham and Bride and Prejudice, the filmmaker is now all set for her upcoming flick. However, the flick will not have an Indian actor in the lead. Her next venture will feature a Pakistani actor.

In a recent interview, Gurinder said that she does not judge people on the basis of whom they offer their prayers to, but on how they act. She said, “My next film is closest to Bend it Like Beckham, but here we have a boy as the protagonist. I am looking forward to making this movie with the boy who is a British-Pakistani”.

She further added, “I am lucky I work in Britain so that I can work with anybody. Films are a global medium, and we all judge people by their abilities and not their nationalities. We see how they talk, emote and how they act and not whom they pray to”. On a related note, the filmmaker is occupied with her latest flick Partition: 1947.
