    I Feel Things Like These Also Have A Shelf Life: Farhan Akhtar On His Acting Career

    Farhan Akhtar ventured into Bollywood in 2001 with 'Dil Chahta Hai' where he stayed behind the camera as writer and director. The movie was critically acclaimed internationally but did not perform as expected at the box office. It starred Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Preity Zinta, Dimple Kapadia and Sonali Kulkarni. He then directed ‘Lakshya’ which was also did not perform well at the box office.

    Farhan made his acting debut with the 2008 film ‘Rock On!!’. The movie got positive feedback from the critics and the audiences. From then onwards, the actor established himself as an actor in the industry with films like ‘Luck By Chance’, ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ and others. Recently, Farhan stated that though he enjoys acting, it has a shelf life.

    “I feel things like these (acting career) also have a shelf life, I can only play those characters for that long. However, I feel there is no need to rock the boat at the moment”, said Farhan. His last directorial project was ‘Don 2’ which hit the screens in 2011 and will soon be seen in front of the camera in the sequel to ‘Rock On!!’.

    'Rock On 2’ has been directed by Shujaat Saudagar and will be released on November 11. For the film, Farhan reunites with Arjun Rampal, Purabh Kohli and Prachi Desai with Shraddha Kapoor as the new addition.
