    I Have Put My Heart And Soul Into 'Viceroy's House', Says Huma Qureshi

    We are all aware of actress Huma Qureshi’s international debut with Gurinder Chadha's 'Viceroy's House'. Talking about the film, the actress reveals that she has put in all her effort in order to get into the skin of the character. Helmed by British-Indian Gurinder Chaddha 'Viceroy's House' is moving' tale of the India-Pakistan partition.

    Talking about the film, Huma says, "It is a very special film which has taken a lot from me... I have put my heart and soul into it." Other than Huma, the film also stars Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson and Manish Dayal. The 'Gangs of Wasseypur' actress will be seen playing Aalia, a Muslim, who falls in love with a Hindu boy, Jeet (Manish) who works at the Viceroy's House but they are seperated once the borderlines are redrawn.

    Talking about being roped in, excited Huma says, "I was very excited to do the film because Gurinder is a celebrated director. Her work has always fascinated me. But apart from that, she is a Punjabi-Indian who is a British citizen, making an Indo-British film about the partition. And she is a woman. So I was like how is all of this going to add up. When I read the script I realised I have to do it. This has to be done. She has made a beautiful, moving, very sensitive film." The film, which is currently running in U.K. cinemas, is set to premier in India in August this year. However, the film will correspond with the 70th anniversary of India's independence.
