Bhumi Pednekar started her Bollywood career with a highly acclaimed film Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Then she started working on Marmarziyan which got shelved. Thereafter, Bhumi was seen with Akshay Kumar in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha which was a blockbuster.

However, more than her films Bhumi is in the news because of her weight and the non modern roles that she chooses. “There is a lot of discussion about a woman when it comes to her weight. But I have got several positive responses even till today. I got a lot of positive response for my second film as well as for how I lost weight. But that should stop now, because it is over and done with,” says the actress.

Bhumi gained 27 kgs for her debut movie. When asked from the actress whether she would gain weight again, she said, “Well, I took three long years to shed that weight. Boys and girls have different body mechanisms. Boys may find it easy, but I found it pretty tough. Actors need to gain or lose weight depending on the characters they play, but I won’t gain 27 kgs anymore.”

The 28-year-old was last seen in Shubh Mangal Savdhan opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. The film received mixed reviews at the box office.
