I was never offered to play Bhupen Hazarika, says Irrfan Khan

Irrfan Khan has proved it time and time again that how talented actor he is. His latest outing, The Lunchbox has also done reasonably well at the box office and his performance in the flick was also a delight to watch. The buzz is that the actor was reportedly going to do a biopic based on lyricist-musician-singer-poet-filmmaker Bhupen Hazarika but Irrfan has made it clear that he is not doing it.

The 46-year-old actor quoted, “I was never offered the role. I would love to play him onscreen. He was a great human being with a huge body of work. People like him should be remembered always. But the script should be really strong,” Veteran musician Bhupen Hazarika passed away on November 5, 2011. And, a biopic on him will be a directorial piece of Kalpana Lajmi, produced by Pooja Bhatt.
