I Was Very Clear About Not Giving Up Indian Cinema For Hollywood: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has carved a niche for herself not in Bollywood but also in Hollywood. The actress has represented India at multiple events. The former Miss World is not only praised for her beauty, but also for her acting skills. Aishwarya is the first Indian actress who tasted success in Hollywood.

She started her Hollywood career with Bride and Prejudice which released in 2004 and later went on doing projects like The Mistress of Spices, Provoked, The Last Legion and The Pink Panther 2. When most of actors think of leaving Indian cinema to pursue their career in Hollywood, Aishwarya is unlike them. In an interview with a leading news channel, the 43-year-old said that she never thought of giving India cinema to make it big in Hollywood.

She said, "I was very clear about that. Also because I enjoy Indian cinema I have had such wonderful directors to work with – I couldn’t get myself to do that. That’s because it is just a different rhythm – I know I can imagine some of our talent working there and experiencing it – it is exciting. It is wonderful to be part of cinema irrespective of which language or part of the world it is getting made in. It is just a different rhythm with which we worked in India and overseas…"

She further stated, "At that time social media was still beginning. Today, the world is socially smaller, you feel more connected and the pace of life is getting faster than not to so long ago. I guess each one will find their own rhythm and what suits everybody. I also had so many yes and no in my list of dos and don’ts. So it narrowed down my choices and that’s just the way I felt I would be comfortable."

The Jazbaa actress said that she is very thankful and grateful to the directors with whom she has worked so far.
