Idris Elba open to put spy suit on for James Bond

Idris Elba open to put spy suit on for James Bond

Idris Elba is known for many exquisite roles throughout his glittering career, but is the English actor set to become the new 007? Elba’s participation on a Reddit, “Ask Me Anything” ignited further rumors of replacing Daniel Craig in the near future. Idris Elba was asked by one Reddit user, “If it were offered to you, would you be the next James Bond?” Elba responded, “Yes, if it was offered to me, absolutely.” Now the question remains whether Idris will be offered the role any time soon? It doesn’t seem happening. Elba, who's been signed to play Shere Khan in Jon Favreau's upcoming version of 'The Jungle Book,' also revealed that his favorite Disney movie was 'Mary Poppins.'

Daniel Craig is set to reprise his portrayal of James Bond at least two more times. The actor has already been featured in three films: Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Skyfall. James Bond 24 is set to open next fall on November 6, 2015, and Sony will release the latest installment. The actor is contracted to do five installments and, as a result, James Bond 24 could be his penultimate feature in the franchise. At present, Elba plays Heimdall in Marvel's Thor franchise and there have been rumors that Pacific Rim's next installment could involve his character, who died in the first but could recur in flashbacks or video.

Well, while the actor is open to take the James Bond challenge, we wonder if he would ever be approached for the character. For the moment we have Daniel Craig doing a fine Bond Job but a gentle suggestion to the makers, ‘if ever you find any trouble replacing Craig, you know you have an option available always’.
