    IIFA Utsavam 2017 brought all the stars of southern cinema under one roof to honour and celebrate the best among them. While rewarding young talent across industries, the event was also used as a platform to pay tribute to some of the legends such as filmmakers SP Muthuraman and K Raghavendra and actor Dwarakish who were bestowed with Lifetime Achievement award.





    In the Tamil Film Awards, Irudhi Suttru took home the big number of accolades with a total tally of three awards in leading role male, leading role female & best picture categories. For the Malayalam Film Awards, Charlie took home the highest number of accolades with a total tally of seven awards in best story, comic role, best direction, leading role male, best lyrics, and best music direction & supporting role female.

    R Madhavan won the award for leading role (male) and Ritika Singh won the award for leading role (female) for their performance in Irudhi Suttru (Tamil). Dulquer Salmaan won the award for leading role (male) for his performance in Charlie (Malayalam) while Rajisha Vijayan walked away with the award for leading role (female) for Anuraga Karikkin Vellam (Malayalam). Veteran filmmaker SP Muthuraman won an award for his outstanding contribution to the Indian film industry.

    On the first day of the event, Catherine opened the evening with a fantastic routine. Superstar divas Hansika Motwani and Akshara Haasan held the audience spell-bound with a stunning performance. Jiiva’s performance lit the stage on fire with some incredible moves. Also the vibrant star Kunchako Boban lit the stage on fire with some incredible moves.

    On the second day, the charming duo, Rana Daggubati and Nani hosted the Telugu segment, while Akul Balaji and Meghana Gaonkar hosted the Kannada award celebrations.

    In the Telugu Film Awards, Janatha Garage took home the highest number of accolades with a total tally of six awards in best picture, best direction, leading role male, best lyrics, music direction and playback singer female categories. For the Kannada Film Awards, Kirik Party took home the highest number of accolades with a total tally of five awards including best picture, leading role male, best lyrics, music direction and best playback singer male.

    NTR won the award for leading role (male) for his performance in Janatha Garage (Telugu) while Samantha Ruth Prabhu walked away with the award for leading role (female) for A Aa (Telugu).

    Rakshit Shetty won the award for leading role (male) for his performance in Kirik Party (Kannada) while Parul Yadav walked away with the award for leading role (female) for Killing Veerappan (Kannada). Ravi Chandran opened the evening with a fantastic routine. Divas Raashi Khanna, Laxmi Raai, Rachita Ram and Ritika Singh held the audience spell-bound with a stunning performance. Akhil and Sai Dharam Tej lit the stage on fire with some incredible moves.

    K Raghavendra Rao won the outstanding contribution award to the Indian Cinema in Telugu segment while Dwarakish won the outstanding contribution award to the Indian Cinema in Kannada segment.
