Bollywood actor would-be father Imran Khan is no more a part of Vikramaditya Motwane's Bhavesh Joshi and it has been confirmed by the director himself. Imran was supposed to play a Gujarati ‘superhero’ in the film. But now, as the actor has opted out of the film, both the film and the actor’s career are at a point of uncertainly for the time being.

No specific reason has been disclosed yet for the decision on Imran’s part. But it has been learnt that the film's producers, Phantom Films, have put the project on the back burner as of now. Motwane will also need to rewrite the script as the lead character in the film was created keeping Imran in mind. A replacement may happen soon but as of now the project is stalled.
When contacted Vikramaditya confirmed the news saying, "Yes, Imran Khan is not doing my film. We will have to figure a way out now. I am back to working on the script." Imran was last seen in Gori Tere Pyaar Mein opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan and it proved a dud at the box-office though expectations were high ahead of its release. Bhavesh Joshi is a socio-drama revolving around a Gujarati man who migrates to Mumbai and it was supposed to undergo production in February this year. But as soon as Imran came to know about his wife Avantika's pregnancy he expressed his wish to spend more time with her, which eventually caused the delay in the project so far.
