IPL pushes Nawaz’s film

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s next was supposed to release on April 24, but it will now hit theatres by mid May. Apparently, exhibitors in Delhi and Punjab refused to screen the film because of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). “They informed us that people in north India are kicked about the IPL, and hence, the film won’t have enough of an audience. Since we wanted an all- India release, the film will now hit the big screen next month,” says Israr Ahmed, the director of the film.

The makers want to utilise this period to promote the film further.“Since we have got more time now, we are planning to do extensive promotional activities. We want to visit various cities with Nawaz,”adds Israr.
