    Gone are those days when filmmakers used to decide the lead actors on the basis of looks and demands of the audiences. Hindi cinema is evolving now and talent and script is given utmost importance. It seems that these days the filmmakers are not only experimenting with the content of the film but are also bringing unusual couples on screen to hook the audiences. Speculations are rife that Irrfan Khan and Kangana Ranaut might share screen space in an upcoming film.

    The film, which is titled ‘Ae Mohabbat’, will be produced by Shri Anup Jalota Productions, who said, “We are trying to get Kangana Ranaut to play one of the stages of Begum Akhatar in the film”. Ae Mohabbat will be based on the life of renowned ghazal and thumri singer Begum Akhtar. The flick will be helmed by director Ketan Mehta whose last film was Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Manjhi - The Mountain Man. The makers of the film are bringing the best of the talent on board as Oscar winner A.R Rahman has also been roped to compose the music.

    Talking about the film to be based on the recipient of Padmabhushan and an icon of Indian classical music, producer Jalota said, “We have grown up listening to and idolising Begum Akhtar. I have been wanting to intiate such project and a tie up with Ae Mohabbat Productions and associating with Rita Ganguly who knew her personally, is a real blessing”.
