Irrfan Khan Turns Down Scarlett Johansson Starrer Spielberg’s Next

While the industry is celebrating Priyanka Chopra's success in Hollywood, Irrfan Khan has already taken the west by storm. Recently, the actor’s Hollywood co-stars have showered all praises on him. But Irrfan isn’t greedy for films; instead he is waiting for right opportunities. After bowing out of Ridley Scott's ‘The Martian’, the actor has recently turned down Steven Spielberg’s ‘Ghost in the Shell’, in which he was supposed to star alongside Scarlett Johansson.

“No is never a pleasant thing to say. I believe there is a right time for things to fall in place. I feel extremely humbled by the kind of opportunities that come my way and I am hungry for so much more as an actor”, he told Mumbai Mirror.

“It's quite a dilemma for me to make such choices as I am at a stage in my career where I'm trying my best to surprise my audience with every role, give them some variety. Who wouldn't want to work with prestigious names like Ridley Scott and Steven Spielberg! I am hoping the future holds something so path-breaking and so empowering for me as an artist that a 'no' will not be an option”, he added. About the Black Widow actress, he said, “She's a brilliant actor. Hopefully, we will share screen space sometime soon in something else”.

Irrfan has earned all the praises for films such as Slumdog Millionaire, Life of Pi and Jurassic World among others. Tom Hanks, his Inferno co-star recently applauded Irrfan’s professionalism. Actress-comedian Mindy Kaling also said that Irrfan is her “favourite actor in the world and everyone should follow him”.
