Samantha Ruth Prabhu has released an attention-grabbing video on Instagram where she is learning the art of Silambam, which she calls her ‘new hobby’. The video looks like Samantha has already learned the basics of the ancient martial art originated from Tamil Nadu. Her short yet graceful steps in the video have already received appreciations from her fans on the micro-blogging site.

Minutes after she posted the video, rumormongers took to Twitter saying that she will be seen performing Silambam in her ongoing project Vijay 61 with director Atlee. “No, she’s not learning Silambam for Vijay 61. It’s a rumour. She is yet to start shooting for the project,” informs a source close to the unit.

Samantha is currently busy shooting for Sukumar’s untitled project with Ram Charan. She is likely to begin filming her scenes in Vijay 61, which will see Ilayathalapathy play a triple role, from next month.

She is also part of Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s episodic thriller Aneedhi Kaidhigal and Vishal’s Irumbu Thirai. Samantha will also start shooting for Mahanati, the biopic of legendary actor Savitri, from June. She will be seen playing the role of a journalist in the movie, which has Keerthy Suresh essaying the titular character.
