Is This Why Zhu Zhu Was Absent From Tubelight Promotions?

As we all know, Salman Khan’s ‘Tubelight’ hit the screens last week but failed to captivate the audiences as the filmmakers expected. The team is promoting the film and initially, it was being said that Salman, Chinese actress Zhu Zhu and other main members of the cast will be present for the promotion. But, Zhu Zhu was nowhere to be seen when Salman, Sohail Khan and Matin Rey Tangu were promoting their film.

The reason behind her absence is still under speculation but sources have stated that the Chinese government wants the actress to keep a distance from the project as the 1962 Sino-Indian War hasn’t been represented in a way that they would have liked it to be. “Even the media had reached out for interactions, but they were told she is busy and unavailable for interviews. The China Film Group Corporation (CFGC) greenlights all Indo-Chinese associations, however, this project wasn't approved by them”, the source shared.

These talks were negated by the film's production house and according to an insider, Zhu Zhu is busy with a prominent Chinese production and could not find the time to make the trip. The filmmakers also expected that the movie will be released in China but because of the import quota system, ‘Tubelight’ will not hit Chinese theatres. Capitalizing on Zhu Zhu’s popularity in China, the filmmakers had hoped to make more profits overseas.
