Jaya Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit to be honoured with Lacchu Maharaj Award

Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit will be honoured with Lacchu Maharaj Award this year. The organisers of Shakuntala Neeruj Sansthan have made an official declaration to give the award to the two beautiful actresses of Bollywood. Kumkum Adarsh, director of the institute has said that Jaya Bachchan would be awarded for 2012 and Madhuri will be awarded for 2013.

Lacchu Maharaj Award was created in the memory of legendary Kathak dancer, Lacchu Maharaj who died in 1978. Asha Parekh, Kumkum,Sridevi, Jaya Prada and Rekha have been honoured with the same award in the past. This award will be an add-on in both the actresses’ award list but for sure this honour is something that Madhuri and Jaya would be highly obliged with as both of them are really good dancers in their own style.
