JNU Row ‘Is Frightening’; ‘ It Angers Me, Shocks Me’, Says Anupam Kher

The political controversy pertaining to Jawaharlal Nehru University has left the country outraged and divided. Bollywood actor Anupam Kher has recently voiced out his opinion at the launch event of Munmun Ghosh’s book ‘Thicker Than Blood’. The veteran actor said that the controversy has transformed into an ideological chaos between BJP and its Left rivals, as vice president of Congress, Rahul Gandhi, has extended his support to the students of the university.  

“It angers me, shocks me as an Indian. I don’t believe 1.3 billion people will let them destroy our country. There is much more in this country than the political games of certain parties”, he said.

“What happened at Jawaharlal Nehru University. Whatever I have watched on video is frightening. In the capital city of our country, some groups are raising slogans about ‘desh ki barbadi’ and ‘azaadi’. It angered me as a countryman”, he added.
