John Abraham Makes Singing Debut in Welcome Back

John Abraham has lent his voice to a song ‘Ithni sochti kaiko, banja meri baiko’ in his upcoming film Welcome Back. The song, written by Nitin Raikar and composed by Anu Malik, is romantically paired opposite Shruti Haasan. John is playing Ajju Bhai, who is a local tapoiri in the film. Welcome Back is all set to hit the theatres on September 7.

Director Anees Bazmee told Mirror, “We wanted Shruti (Haasan) and John to sing a duet but Shruti, who is a trained singer with a beautiful voice, was in Dubai during the recording so we decided to go ahead with John, solo”. On the other hand John revealed that he was reluctant to take up the song. He said, “Never! I kept saying no but Anees insisted. I finally told him I'd sing only if he gave me time to rehearse and then take everyone's opinion on the subject. But before he could do that, Anu Malik came and announced that I should leave it to him. So I did!”.

It is said that it was Anu Malik’s idea to make the New York star sing. Reportedly, it took 6 hours for the duo in the recording of the song. “John will shock the audience not only with his singing debut, but also with his over-the-top bhaigiri in the film”, said the composer.
