Kailash Kher Turns Producer

Renowned Sufi-folk singer Kailash Kher is all set to don producer’s hat. The singer is producing a TV show titled ‘Baba Kedarnath’ for Doordarshan. Several celebrities such as Anupam Kher, Vivek Oberoi and Ashutosh Rana have joined the board as narrators. Singers such as Arijit Singh, Prasoon Joshi, Shaan, Sonu Nigam, Babul Supriyo and Shreya Ghoshal have crooned for the title track of the mythological serial.

Talking about the project, Kailash Kher told Mumbai Mirror, “I felt that mythological shows we see on TV weren't quite precise. So I decided to make one with proper research. The idea coincided with the Uttarakhand government approaching me to make something on the state's history”.

The singer further said that he is focusing on making the show as authentic as he can. “I plan to make shows and films that are entertaining and educational and promote Indian culture instead of blindly copying the West”. It seems that Kailash Kher is quite dedicated about his newly found interest.
