Kajol can be a board member of Prasar Bharti

Kajol is under consideration to be a part of new part time members for Prasar Bharti. The actress is one candidate amongst the seven, who has been chosen by Ministry of Home Affairs. The list has been sent to Information and Broadcasting ministry for further clearance.

Other members who are on the list include Anoop Jalota (singer), Ashok Tandon (former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's media advisor), Minhaz Merchant (journalist) are also on the list along the DDLJ star. As per Prasar Bharati Act, this board is subject to have 6 members. Currently, is vacancy for 4.

ET quoted a government officer saying, “The government is looking at changing the look and feel of Doordarshan completely in the next few months and it is important we have someone accomplished and from the mainstream entertainment industry to revamp the content in Doordarshan. Hence Kajol was considered”. As per the vacancy, the part time members have to be persons of eminence in public life. They will be appointed for 6 years in the team. Further, they can choose to retire after 2 years.
