Popular Kannada actor Amulya got engaged to Jagadish R Chandra, son of a politician and former corporator GH Ramachandra on Monday. The wedding is scheduled to take place in May.

The 23-year-old actor, who has worked in 20 films already, was introduced to Jagadish by Shilpa, the wife of her co-star, Ganesh. Amulya is the second popular Kannada star to get engaged after Radhika Pandit tied the knot with actor Yash in December 2016.

Amulya made her acting debut as a child artiste in 2001. As an adult, her first film was Cheluvina Chittara (2007) opposite Ganesh. She went on to work in films such as Chaitrada Chandrama, Naanu Nanna Kanasu, Shravani Subrahaanya and Gajakesari. Her work in Shravani Subrahamanya fetched her a Filmfare Award in the best actress category.

According to Deccan Chronicle, the engagement ceremony was solemnised as per Hindu rituals in Kengeri, near Bangalore. The function was attended by close family friends and film personalities.

Speaking to reporters later, Jagadish said: “We are looking out for a suitable venue at Rajarajeshwari Nagar. The wedding may take place on May 11 and 12,” he said.
