Kapil Sharma To Be Hounoured With Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award This Year

We recently told you that Priyanka Chopra, who has become an International icon, will be conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award. She will be bestowed with the award under a new category Internationally Acclaimed Actress Award which was especially created for her. And now there is one more popular person in B-town who will be honoured with the award.

Stand-up comedian turned actor, Kapil Sharma, has been chosen to be conferred with the award. The actor will receive the award on Thursday. And this will be second time that the actor will receive the award.

He previously received the award way back in 2014, when he reached the venue so late that there was no in the venue to applaud him. He had to collect the award from stage coordinator. However, this time the actor has assured that he will reach the venue on time. Joining in the list of Priyanka and Kapil will be actors Gulshan Grover, Vivek Oberoi and few others who will be given the awards under different category. Pahlaj Nihalani, State Cabinet Minister Subhash Desai and the city Mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar will grace the event with their presence.

Recently, Kapil was in news after his ugly spat with co-star Sunil Grover from his show The Kapil Sharma Show which resulted in Sunil and three other members Ali Asgar, Chandan Prabhakar and Sugandha Mishra deciding to quit the show. There were also reports that TRPs of his show dropped considerably when the members left the show leading which the channel decided to take the show off air. However, later we heard that the show was given an extension after its ratings increased.
