Karan Johar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali who were earlier involved in a bitter war of words have finally made peace. The fight between the duos ensued due to the casting of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh for their films. Karan was left red faced when Bhansali casted Deepika and Ranveer for his film Goliyon Ki Raas Leela Ram Leela, without discussing it with him in person.

It was reported that Karan Johar was hoping to rope in Deepika and Ranveer for his film Shuddhi, when Sanjay Leela Bhansali first casted the pair in Goliyon Ki Raas Leela Ram Leela and then for his next film Bajirao Mastani. In a interview given earlier Karan said he shares a “formal, civil and amicable equation with Sanjay Bhansali, nothing beyond that". "So there's no reason for me to speak to him about Shuddhi. He didn't discuss the Bajirao Mastani announcement with me", he added.

Bhansali reacted by saying, "I've never understood why someone, who you think is a friend, would publicly talk ill about you". After this the duo kept a distance from eachother and did not talk for months. But now a source who saw their chance meeting has told Mumbai Mirror that, "They looked at each other....And just smiled. It was as if they had never fought. They spoke for a good 30 minutes about everything, from current films to their past differences. By the time they were ready to go home, all was well". When Sanjay Leela Bhansali was asked to comment over the meeting with Karan he said, "It's nice when you meet old friends. And start over as if you'd never fought. The bitterness is behind us now, for good".
