Karan Johar Feels ‘Bollywood Doesn’t Pay Its Writers Well’

Karan Johar has rendered countless hit Bollywood films in 21 years of his B-town career. The filmmaker has two of his bankrolled projects on the verge of release. ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ starring Sidharth-Katrina will release on September 9 while ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ featuring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma is slated to hit the cinema screens on October 28.

Karan says, “We have perhaps never acknowledged the importance of a writer in the making of a movie because of which we tend to relegate him to the sidelines.” He regrets that the writers are deserted and ignored. He senses that all the fame and lauds are showered upon the actors and directors.

Karan, who entered the film industry as an assistant director in Aditya Chopra’s ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, is a prominent name in the industry today. Apart from above mentioned flicks, he also has other project including ‘Ok Jaanu’ and ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ in his backpack. His upcoming written and directed romantic drama film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ has already grabbed the headlines.

Desimartini wishes Karan Johar for all his future endeavours.
