Karan Johar postpones Ungli release to cause headache for Shahid Kapoor?

Karan Johar is not at all forgiving in the case of Shahid Kapoor, it seems. To create problems for the actor, it is said that the director-producer has planned to postpone the release of his next, Ungli. If at all that happens, Ungli is supposed to clash with Shahid’s Phata Poster Nikla Hero at the box-office.

As reported by a tabloid, Johar’s multi-starrer featuring Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda and Sanjay Dutt, was originally scheduled to hit the screens on September 6. But the director has decided to defer the release by two weeks, which means it will release on the same day as Rajkumar Santoshi’s film starring Shahid Kapoor.

According to a source, “Karan and Shahid have not exactly shared a good rapport in the past. They had a clash of sorts when Sasha walked out of ‘Kaal’. After that they did not work for years only to reunite for Punit Malhotra’s film. Even then, Shahid walked out of ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ at the last minute, only to be replaced by Imran Khan. It seems Karan might have deliberately pushed his film by two weeks to clash with Shahid.” But Karan’s close sources had something different to say on that, “The film has been pushed by two weeks because it would not be ready by that time. Ranbir Kapoor’s Besharam releases on October 2. It made better business sense to not clash with Ranbir.”
