    Kareena Kapoor to portray Begum Samru in her next flick

    Mumbai -- Director Tigmanshu Dhulia has cast Kareena Kapoor in his next period film as Begum Samru. After the success of his latest flicks Paan Singh Tomar and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, the director is now working on an epic film based on the life of Begum Samru, who started her career as a nautch girl in 18th Century India, and eventually became the ruler of Sardhana, a principality near Meerut. "It is too early to talk about the details of the film, but Kareena is definitely excited for this film," official spokesperson from the director's side said in a statement. She married European mercenary, Walter Reinhardt Sombre and acquired training in armed forces comprising Europeans and Indians. She had also ruled the principality of Sardhana in 18th and 19th century India.
