Ilayathalapathy Vijay has showered praise on debutant director Karthick Naren’s page-turning whodunit thriller Dhuruvangal 16, which left both audiences and critics in awe upon release towards the fag end of 2016.

“Brilliant job man. Really liked the way you treated the emotions. Best wishes for your future”, just received this call from ‘Ilayathalapathy Vijay’ sir. I have never stuttered so much while talking to someone on the phone,” posted an excited Karthick Naren on his Facebook page.

Dhuruvangal 16 featured actor Rahman in the role of an investigative cop and received unanimous praise from everyone, besides minting money at the box office.

Karthick Naren is currently busy with the pre-production work of his second feature film titled Naragasooran. Tipped to be an intense suspense drama on the lines of Dhuruvangal 16, the movie will feature Arvind Swami and Naga Chaitanya in the lead roles. Naren is still on the lookout for someone from the Malayalam film industry to play an important role.
