Katrina Kaif to pair up with Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan’s Happy New Year

Katrina Kaif has won the race again, if rumours are anything to be believed. Sources reveal that Katrina is the chosen one as the female lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan's next film, Happy New Year.

If the reports are true, Katrina has beaten the likes of Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Ankita Lokhande, Jennifer Winget and Simran Kaur Mundi. Katrina has made it to the final scene for Happy New Year after her film opposite Hrithik Roshan got postponed till the year-end, as reported earlier. The sources explain, "The casting director of the film had already finalised the other three ladies. But with Hrithik going for his sudden brain surgery, the equations changed and Kat came on board. She is completely free for the next three months."

It has also been heard that SRK preferred a well-known actress opposite him in the film and he also mentioned the same to director Farah. As Deepika’s kitty is already full, Katrina was the obvious choice. Another source said, "The film is going on the floors from September 5 onwards and since they want around 40 days from Katrina, she can easily shoot the film through September and October." The initial negotiations have already happened and the deal will be made final once Kat comes back to India after her Sri Lanka holiday with Ranbir Kapoor. No confirmation has been made from Farah and Kat’s end yet.
