Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati 9 has quickly gone on to become one of the top rated shows on TV with a dedicated fan following. On Friday, it was the turn of Shilpa Shetty to take the hot seat along with Mumbai-based lawyer Afroz Shah, who has won one of the top environmental honour of the United Nations, for leading the clean-up of Mumbai’s Versova Beach.
Shah was a personal invitee of Big B to join the show’s ‘Nai Chah, Nai Raah’ segment where a social activist and a celeb come together to play the game. In this episode, Shah said he would use the amount he wins from KBC to buy equipment for cleaning the beach.
The duo won Rs 25 lakh but the telling moment came when Shetty, who had confessed that she was a die-hard Bachchan fan, failed to guess a famous song that starred the superstar. For Rs 20,000, Shetty and Shah were asked to guess the song ‘Do Lafzon Ki Hai’ after listening to two lines from the song.
Later, Bachchan told Shetty that it was a song from his film, The Great Gambler, and was shot on him and Zeenat Aman. Shetty, obviously, was left a tad embarassed.
Big B also asked Shilpa to teach the viewers some yoga aasan so that the contestant can keep calm while playing the game.
This season of the show has already got its first crorepati when Anamika Mazumdar from Jamshedpur won Rs 1 crore. She left the game despite reaching the Jio Jackpot question worth Rs 7 crore as she was not sure of the answer.
