Singer Tulsi Kumar and her sister, designer-turned-actor Khushali Kumar have just come out with their third single together, which is quite different from their previous collaborations.

“I made the concept, did the styling and the costumes... basically the entire look and feel of the video. The song has been sung by my sister, Tulsi, and I have acted in it. With this video, we wanted to do something inspiring. We were very particular about the lyrics, including Raftaar’s rap. I play the character of a girl who runs a garage, which is basically a man’s job. So, we have tried to say in a fun way — there is nothing that girls can’t do,” Khushali says.

She has strong family ties and owes her success to them: “I am blessed to have a family who’s always given me the right direction and the freedom to choose. But when I look around in our society, there’s a lot of suppression. After this video, I got a lot of messages on social media where people said the video motivated them. This is very encouraging.”

On preparations for the part, Khusali adds: “I had to give up sweets and survive on steamed and boiled food. When you eat right, you are more energetic.”

She doesn’t plan to sing as she says she never had the passion for it. “Even in school, I would be more into drama and dance.” Fans can expect more from her in the coming days. There are a couple of singles that I have planned with my sister. A movie project is also in the pipeline,” she shares.
