As we open the Google India page, the home page appears with a smiling Kishore Kumar. He was born to a Bengali family in Madhya Pradesh as Abhas Kumar Ganguly on August 4, 1929. Apart from being the most successful singer in the Hindi film industry, he has also excelled as a lyricist, actor, composer, producer, director, screenplay writer and scriptwriter. He is the king of Filmfare Awards in the Best Male Playback Singer category, as he won 8 for the same. He passed away after suffering a heart attack on October 13, 1987, at the age of 58.

Kishore had four spouses throughout his lifetime. First he married Bengali singer and actress Ruma Guha Thakurta and this journey began in 1950 to end in 1958. Then he got hitched to Madhubala which lasted till the actress’ death on February 23, 1969. Then his third wife was Yogeeta Bali and this marriage lasted for 2 years only. His last and final wife was Leena Chandavarkar and this bond stayed from 1980 till his death in 1987. Whenever we think of Kishore, what comes to our mind first is the voice of Dev Anand and Rajesh Khanna. Though he is no more in this world but his songs like Roop Tera Mastana, Agar Tum Na Hote, Chingari Koi Bhadke, O Manjhi Re, Hameh Tumse Pyar, Chhookar Mere Mann Ko, to name quite a few, and his films like Padosan, Half Ticket, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, will never let us forget this person as his contribution is immeasurable.
