Know Why Sanjay Leela Bhansali Rejected 30 Designers

Films coming from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s squad are known for flawless screenplay. The sets, costumes and arena that he creates are matchless. Rumours are doing the rounds that the 53-year-old filmmaker has rejected 30 designers for his forthcoming epic drama film, ‘Padmavati’.

Almost 30 designers that volunteered to dress the queen of Mewar in his upcoming magnum opus were dismissed by the ace filmmaker. A source has revealed that, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali is looking for the right person to design costumes for his cast, and especially for Deepika Padukone who plays Padmavati in the film. He has already screened 30 designers for the job but hasn’t liked any so far.”

The film will star Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles. The flick is slated to release on November 17, 2017. The forthcoming project is a dramatized account of the 1303 siege of the Chittor fort in Rajasthan. Alauddin Khilji led the invasion, motivated by his desire to capture the beautiful queen Rani Padmini, the wife of Rana Rawal Ratan Singh.

The team has built a colossal set in Mumbai’s Mehboob Studios for this project. In this film, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will recreate starry-eyed ambience under Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s direction as they earlier did in ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’. Reportedly, ‘Padmavati’ will hit the floors by the end of this year.

Desimartini hopes that Sanjay soon finds a designer who can put his thoughts to life.
