Konkona Sen Sharma and Kunaal Roy Kapur will be seen playing themselves in an upcoming sitcom, Side Hero, to be aired on Eros Now. The sitcom is reportedly based on the life of the Nautanki Saala! actor, who will be seen playing fictionalised version of him. The 10-episode series will be helmed by Rohan Sippy, who is making a debut on the digital space with Side Hero.

“I'm a huge fan of comedy greats like Armando Iannucci, Ricky Gervais and Louis CK, and I feel the time is right to attempt this humour of intense discomfort in an Indian setting. And despite the title, it will actually put Kunaal centre-stage. He's a fine comic actor and we share the same sense of humour”, Rohan told Mumbai Mirror. Konkona Sen Sharma will reportedly essay the role of Kunaal's friend. “Konkana is one of my favourite actors and is playing herself too. I hope we find a way to keep her for a longer duration”, said Rohan.

The pilot for 10 episode series has already been shot. The show is likely to premiere in January. “It won't take long to shoot since we are looking at halfhour episodes”, said Rohan.
