Kriti Sanon Has An Answer For All Those Link-Up Rumours With Sushant Singh Rajput

Actor Kriti Sanon has made it to Bollywood’s A-list in a very short span of time. With films such as Heropanti (2014), Dilwale (2015), and this year’s Bareilly Ki Barfi in her kitty, she has made her performances count. But what she makes news for — as often as for her movies — is her rumoured relationship with her Raabta co-star Sushant Singh Rajput . Though Kriti has clarified on several occasions that they are “just friends”, the actor says that people refuse to believe it. So, she quips, she’d have to think up new answers to respond to the rumours.

“I’m so done with it. I’ve realised that you can’t stop people from writing about you… so it’s not in your control,” retorts Kriti.

We ask, one more time, if there’s any truth behind these link-up rumours. Kriti quips, “People have asked me this question 10 times, and I’ve always answered it. Asking it 50 times won’t change my answer. So, technically, I’m giving the same answer everywhere, and it’s funny that people still don’t get bored with it. So, I think I’ll start thinking of new answers now. That’s the only way to make it sound interesting.”

While most actors get stressed about such non-stop romance rumours, Kriti asserts that “it doesn’t bother or make a difference to my life”. Has it ever led to any misunderstanding between herself and Sushant? “No. Not at all!” she says. “It doesn’t affect our equation with each other. For these gossipmongers, who are complete strangers and don’t mean anything to me in my personal life, I can’t spoil my relation with people who are associated with me and my life.”

As for social media trolls that tend to get nasty, Kriti’s strategy is to ignore them. “Not everybody’s opinion matters,” she says. “Though I take criticism in a positive [way], on social media, people don’t have any restriction, so they are not scared of writing anything offensive,” says the actor, adding that at times, it’s important to block the person. “When there’s someone who is too negative, I simply click the block button and I’m sorted,” says Kriti.
