Kunal Kapoor will teach Shakespeare's plays in Vandana Kataria's The Noblemen

Actor Kunal Kapoor’s association with William Shakespeare seems to be continuing even after his trilingual film Veeram , where he plays the tragic hero Macbeth. The 39-year-old plays a drama teacher in his next film, The Noblemen and will be seen taking lessons about the bard’s plays.

Kunal shares that his love for the playwright started long back. “The first play that I was ever a part of was Hamlet. The range of Shakespeare’s characters is just enormous. Each one of them, whether it’s a man or woman, prince or pauper, hero or anti hero, is so complex, layered and yet deeply identifiable. And his stories are timeless. Audiences, actors and readers across generations can relate to them,” says Kunal.

About the his character in the film, the actor adds, “I have had the opportunity to play such varied characters in the last year. This again is very different and I am playing parts that I have never done or tried before. This particular character (of a drama teacher) is rebellious, and his teaching methods are unique and unconventional. I could feel a deep connect with this character, as it breaks the stereotypical ideas about how things should be done.”
