Mahesh Bhatt goes speechless over Alia Bhatt’s performance in Highway

It’s not simply parental affection for Mahesh Bhatt which he has felt deeply after watching his youngest daughter Alia Bhatt’s feat in her latest with Imtiaz Ali, Highway. Veteran filmmaker Bhatt stood spell-bound and even compared Alia’s act to Shabana Azmi’s epic performance in Arth.
A speechless Bhatt could only say, “I saw Alia in Highway. Alia overwhelms you with her heartbreaking sincerity. Her journey has begun. This is Alia’s Arth. Highway is a film that will sparkle in Alia’s filmography.” He tweeted this morning, “Thank you Imtiaz Ali for making Alia 'live' the role of her life time. The women of our country will empathise with this heartfelt tale.” Earlier he tweeted, “HIGHWAY takes the road less traveled & makes way deep into your heart.” Now Alia is all set to act in her mother Soni Razdan’s film which is based on the infamous Nanavati murder case.

The leading actress of Highway, Alia, went for her film along with her family - sister Pooja Bhatt, father Mahesh Bhatt and her alleged lover Arjun Kapoor's sister Anshula Kapoor. Pooja looked quite excited when she reached to watch her half-sister’s much-awaited movie. She also tweeted, "#Highway heralds Alia Bhatt's birth as an actor... Need I say more?" Though Anshula was present at the screening, her brother Gunday star Arjun was missing. Alia’s grandparents also attended the screening of her film. Alia, clad in jeans and T-shirt, looked chilled out at the event. Other Bollywood celebrities who were present at the screening are actress Shazahn Padmasee with her mother former singer Sharon Prabhakar, director Vishesh Bhatt who is also Alia’s cousin brother, Highway maker Imtiaz, actress-turned-celebrity chef Amrita Raichand, Lootera maker Vikramaditya Motwane, film producer Bhuashan Kumar, Alia’s uncle and producer Mukesh Bhatt, director Punit Malhotra and others.
