Mahi Gill didn't want to play Mona Darling in Zanjeer remake, says director

Mahi Gill, who will play the role of Mona Darling in the remake of Zanjeer, wasinitially reluctant to portray the character, according to director Apoorva Lakhia. "Yes, we have ropedin Mahi Gill for Mona Darlings role which was played by Bindu (in the original). However, Mahi didntwant to play Mona Darling. I had to convince her. Later she sent me a text that she wants to do therole, Lakhia told IANS. I am sure Mahi will take her character to a next level. She is one of the mostbeautiful and talented actress we have in Bollywood, he added. While superstar Chiranjeevis son RamCharan Tej will take on Amitabh Bahchan's role in the remake, Prakash Raj has been roped in to play thearch-villain Teja, originally played by Ajit. I am grateful that Prakash Raj and Mahi Gill are part of myfilm. I am very excited with the star cast. The leading lady of the film will be finalised by today. Lookingforward to it, Lakhia said. The film goes on the floors May 13.
