Mahie Gill to remind of Meena Kumari in Gang of Ghosts’ number

Legendary actress Meena Kumari has been an inspiration for Bollywood actress Mahie Gill for a special number in the latter’s upcoming film Gang of Ghosts. The tragedy queen has inspired the song 'Nahi Dungi, Nahi Dungi, Dil mera fokat mein nahi dungi' filmed on Gill.

Mahie said in a statement, "I am a huge Meena Kumari fan so it was a great honour for me to emulate her on screen. In no way could it be less than perfect for which I studied her in films like Birju Bawra and Dil Ek Mandir.” Mahie was also quite interested in the style of the song. Director Satish Kaushik said, "We wanted the song to have an old-world feel and fashioned Mahie's look on the lines of great Meena Kumari. It has come out terrifically and Mahi has done a great job.” Gangs of Ghosts, also starring Anupam Kher, Meera Chopra, Chunkey Pandey and Saurabh Shukla, is the remake of Bengali comedy blockbuster Bhooter Bhobishyot.
