Makers assure to delete ‘Objectionable’ scenes from Singham Returns

Just as the trailer of Rohit Shetty’s Singham Returns was unveiled, a right wing Hindu organisation had expressed their hostility in terms of the content. The makers however have now decided to delete certain scenes from the movie and have reportedly assured the protesters about it.

The trailer had shown a Hindu saint as an underworld criminal and certain dialogues were derogatory, hence it appeared disturbing to the organisation. The members of the organisation ‘Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS)’ met Rohit, Ajay Devgan and the creative director Ashok Pandit to discuss the matter detail. The members were reportedly assured of complete support and living up to their demands. “The HJS registered its objections with producers, directors and the Censor Board after watching its trailer. Accordingly, producers and directors called a meeting and gave us a concrete assurance to remove objectionable scenes raised by us,” the HJS spokesperson Ramesh Shinde stated.

The organisation also circulated a letter by producer Kumar Mangat which had the written assurance. “All the shots which were mutually discussed to be deleted will be deleted and will not be there in the film. We respect your sentiments and assure you that nothing will be done to disrespect it,” the letter said. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film is all set to hit the screens on August 15th.
