Man who made abusive calls to Pooja Bhatt sent to judicial custody

The man, who has recently made many threatening calls to Bollywood actor-director Pooja Bhatt, turned out to be a Pune-based mobile service centre employee. The name of the man is Ashish Swarnakar and he is a native of Udgir in Latur. He was arrested by police on Saturday and has been remanded into judicial custody after being produced before a magistrate in Bandra. According to police, Swarnakar, who has been booked under IPC sections 507 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (insulting modesty of a woman), received the numbers of Pooja and her father Mahesh Bhatt from his composer neighbor, Dhruv. Pooja registered a complaint about the abusive calls last week at the Bandra Police Station. Senior inspector Abhay Shastri said, “He has no criminal record and we are checking if had made similar calls to other celebrities”.
