Mary Kom goes past half century, continues to earn well

Despite mixed reviews, two new releases and a settling trend, Priyanka Chopra’s Mary Kom continued to perform well in its second week as well. The film hit the 50 crore mark quite comfortably and now stands at around 56 crores.

Mary Kom despite the releases of Finding Fanny and Creature 3D garnered a little under 8 crores in the weekend and added more than a crore on Monday. The stable performance is a credited proof to state that the film has been largely successful in conveying its message. The tax free factor too went well for the makers with the film contributing better figures from key markets. Though some believe the film could have done a lot better, the current performance of the movie still makes it a winner. Being a women centric cinema Mary Kom has been able to lift the spirits up in a good way. The social media support for the biopic has also contributed a lot in its success. While Kangana Ranaut’s Queen is the highest women centric earner with more than 60 crores, let’s see how close Priyanka Chopra finishes.
