    Mithun Chakraborty Resigns From Rajya Sabha. Know Why!

    Actor tuned politician Mithun Chakraborty resigned from the Rajya Sabha today, December 27. Sources in Trinamool Congress (TMC) said that Mithun has submitted his resignation to Rajya Sabha Chairman. The 66-year-old actor stated that he was citing some health issues because of which he wasn’t be able to fulfil his duties at the Upper House and thus, has submitted his resignation.

    TMC leader Derek O’Brien said, “He resigned from Rajya Sabha on health grounds. We continue to share warm relationship with him and his family and wish him speedy recovery.” Mithun was alleged involved in Saradha scam that made news last year. For the same, he had attended the Upper House for three days only.

    In 2014, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee nominated Mithun to the upper house for the TMC. Apart from his political vocation, Mithun is best known for his contribution to the film industry. The actor made his Bollywood debut in 1976 and has been associated with the industry for almost 4 decades.
