Mithun Da turns 62

Actor and producer Mithun Chakraborty has turned 62 today. Mithun Chakraborty, popularly known as ‘Mithun Da’ started his career in acting with Mrinal Sen`s Mrigaya. His outstanding performance in the movie fetched him National Award for Best Actor. He won two more National Film Awards for his marvellous performance in Tahader Katha in 1992 and Swami Vivekananda in 1998.

Chakraborty appeared in almost 350 films. Apart from Hindi and Bengali, the actor has also done Oriya, Bhojpuri and Punjabi films. His performances in movies like Aamne Saamne, Janata Ki Adaalat, Loha, Agneepath and Guru won a lot of appreciation. Apart from appearing in comedy flicks in Housefull 2 and Golmaal 3, the versatile actor has also portrayed villainous roles in Umesh Shukla’s OMG – Oh My God! and Kalpana Lajmi's Chingaari. The actor is currently working on It's Entertainment with Akshay Kumar and Kick with Salman Khan. 

Mithun Chakraborty emerged as a great dance and got the tag of ‘Disco Dancer’ after his movie Disco Dancer did well at the box office. Mithun Chakraborty is also appearing as a chief judge in the Indian dance reality show, Dance India Dance which has entered in Limca Book of Records and Guinness World Records.
