Naam Shabana earnings soar on Saturday, film collects Rs 11.49 crore in two days

Taapsee Pannu-starrer Naam Shabana, which received bad reviews after its theatrical release on Friday, has collected Rs 11.49 domestically in two days.

After making an opening day collection of Rs 5.12 crore, director Shivam Nair’s film saw a slight jump in the earnings on Saturday. It earned Rs 6.37 crore on the second day of its release.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#NaamShabana witnessed healthy 24.41% growth on Sat... Sun biz is crucial... Fri 5.12 cr, Sat 6.37 cr. Total: ₹ 11.49 cr. India biz.”

Co-starring Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Manoj Bajpayee, Danny Denzongpa and Prithviraj Sukumaran, Naam Shabana released in around 2100 screens across India.

The film is a spin-off of Akshay Kumar’s 2015 hit Baby, in which Taapsee featured as Shabana. Now the new movie tells the origin story of her character.

Taapsee thanked the public for showing up at the theatres for the film, which is her fourth Bollywood outing after Chashme Baddoor, Baby and Pink.
