'Naam Shabana' Is Most Obvious Yet Innovative Step For 'Baby' Franchise: Neeraj Pandey

Acclaimed film director-producer-screenwriter Neeraj Pandey’s upcoming movie ‘Naam Shabana’ is an action thriller helmed by Shivam Nair. The movie is a prequel to Akshay Kumar’s 2015 action spy thriller ‘Baby’ and will feature Taapsee Pannu reprising her role as Shabana. Recently, Neeraj talked about the Taapsee’s character and the film, saying that it was an organic step to build a franchise.

“Taapsee as Shabana in 'Baby' left an indelible impression on audiences”, Neeraj stated, adding, “It seemed important to share more about the character. 'Naam Shabana' is the most obvious yet innovative step to take to build the 'Baby' franchise”.

Well, the audience is definitely awaiting the flick’s release. ‘Naam Shabana’ will tell the story of the character Shabana before the film ‘Baby’. Slated for release on March 31, the ensemble cast of the movie includes Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongpa, Manoj Bajpayee, and Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran.
