As an actor, Niyati Fatnani believes in breaking boundaries by playing a variety of characters on the small screen. Just one year old in the television industry, Niyati feels that at present, there’s more scope for an artist, as a lot of experimentation has been happening in TV shows.

“Shows with interesting contents are doing well and getting appreciated from audiences. While makers are open to trying out new things, viewers too don’t mind watching something out-of-the-box. I feel lucky to be a part of TV during such an interesting phase,” says Niyati adding that she would love to do a mythological show some day.

The actor will essay the role of a young and ambitious girl, Aru, in Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaage that also stars Eijaz Khan in the male lead. “I need to feel convinced and connect with my character before I can play it on-screen. As an actor, I also try and add to the character in my own way so that I can offer something new to the audience. To ensure that, I usually draw reference from my real life experiences. Also, I make sure that I don’t repeat myself,” says Niyati who hopes that each character she plays on TV should be different from each other.

Niyati’s claim to fame has been the character of Niharika aka Baby that she portrayed in her debut show, D4 – Get up and Dance. “Along with getting popularity, I learnt a lot while working on my first show. Apart from acting, I also received basic training in dance forms such as hip-hop, contemporary, ballet and kathak through workshops,” adds the actor.
